What you are looking at
Before ovulation, resting temperature sits at a low baseline. Around ovulation it dips slightly, then rises about 0.3–0.5°C and stays elevated. The rise is driven by progesterone after the egg is released. A rise that holds through three consecutive mornings is the flag.
